Dropship Distributor – Your Success or Failure

Can you really make money selling products online from a dropship distributor? Many people have… but times have changed. There is more completion in the dropship business, right? Yes, no doubt there is… much more completion than two or three years back. But retail online sales went from $87 Billion in 2004 to $146 Billion in 2008. The market online is nowhere near reached its potential. It is expected to continue growing at a rate of 10 to 15% each year. Amazon is now pushing for more drop ship distributor “sellers” in their business as they see this as a vital part of growing their business. Many other online companies are making it possible for entrepreneurs to build an internet based business.

When looking into drop ship distributors, there is another area to consider. There are business methods being used by distributors that many sellers don’t realize or know anything about. I agree that finding a group with forums and rating systems is the best way to go about your process of finding the right vendor.

But please consider something: Many directories or groups selling you contact information to vendors actually receive a commission from that vendor on your future purchases. Some charge a “sign-up” membership fee and still receive a commission on your on what you buy.

Wholesale Dropship Distributor – Don’t Cut Corner Here

Whether you are doing business on Ebay, Amazon or any other format, a good wholesale dropship distributor is a must. Your dropship distributor can literally make you or break you! If you don’t know how to go about finding the right connection for your business, here are some good ideas and points to take into serious consideration:

First, information:  Without enough information on wholesalers you will make mistakes. Most of the dropship companies are legitimate businesses that you can trust. The problem is distinguishing the good dropshipper from the bad. That’s where information in vital.  What kind of information? Look at it like this – If you were applying for a job what kind of information would the employer be asking from you? References. History. Experience. You need these from your prospective wholesale drop shipper too.

Second, proven record: One major part of this information is the proven record of the distributor. You should not make a decision without being supplied this type information and the distributor should have it readily available for new customers. Remember you are the customer!

Third, proven products: How do you know if the quality and packaging is OK? One way is samples. Of course you have no guarantee that what is shipped out to your customer is the same as the sample you were sent. Do what you can to assure quality, it is very important to your business and its rating with your customers, but really doing good research on the first and second ideas above are your best bet.

Fourth, “Don’t Cut Corners Here”: MY SOLUTION. I have found that working with a group of people doing what I am doing and learning from them is best. Most wholesale business people do this. Why not ask others that are successful in wholesale drop ship? Go to an active forum and ask questions of experienced sellers. And, better yet, if this group has already had other members rate vendors from actual experiences.
